The htaccess file provides directions to the web servers on how to serve URL addresses based on rules you define. This file can only work on Apache Servers other options are available for NT Servers. The file needs to be called .htaccess - please note the period prior to the name. This name is both the extension and the file name itself. This file can only be coded in ASCII mode and can be done in any Text File Editor.
Once the .htaccess file is coded - the file needs to be saved in the top level root directory along with the main index homepage top level domain URL address. That is it. Very simple. Please review the perfect htaccess file.
